Like many others in RipOff Report, I was charged an outrageous amount for a call made from France to England that was not even connected. There was another rip-off charge for a call that was connected. And both were made from a France Telephone kiosk with no indication that BBG were involved in any way. It is impossible to contact them, and they manage to escape the regulatory agencies by making various false claims about what they do; e.g, sometimes they say they don't do the connections, only the billing. Their telephone number is useless, since it doesn't accept incoming calls.
I am not letting this go, even though my money was finally refunded by someone. (It was sent to my bank account, with no indication of the source.) I have been in touch with a national newspapers and every regulatory body I can think of in the United Kingdom and France. They are all toothless organisations with no concern for the infinite number of people who have been the victims of this scam. Only ARCEP in France have so far not replied.
I think this kind of company cannot be permitted to continue, especially since they carry on their activities under cover of reputable firms such as British Telecom, France Telecom/Orange, and various hotel chains. I hope that everyone who has been fleeced by them will do everything possible to bring them to the attention of the wider public. Eventually they will have to answer for their swindle.
