I read Dan Broker's report as well as Carl Barnowski's rebuttal. I am here to say everything Dan wrote was in fact true. As a matter of fact, I am not sure why Mr. Barnowski said he does not sell products to financial brokers. I was at a nearby booth at a Marketing conference this past fall. Not only was Mr. Barnowski selling some marketing program, collecting credit card numbers for this service, he also was trying to sell people locations/licenses. My good friend was one of the victims. Not only did his marketing program not provide any leads, Mr. Barnowski continued to charge her credit card a large monthly fee for absolutely nothing. His presentation of the program he was selling included refernces to publicity book deals and tv shows. It turns out all these were all fake. There were through a celebrity branding agency-not because he is any expert in financial advising. He said he gave up his securities license. Go to FINRA.org and see why. I guess he has now turned his schemes on the financial advisor community. Mr. Barnowski forgets that we all talk. We now know he was trying to scheme us out of our money.
In his rebuttal he states he does not sell locations and is licensed in only certain states. His website has a form soliciting brokers, a location in Idaho listed , and in his paid press release he states he is opening locations in Arizone and Maryland. He is not icensed in any of these states. Yet he claims he was not planning on collecting commissions under other's licenses.
I am sure the victims in the FINRA report appreciate his attitude toward them. His rebuttal shows his character. If you are an insurance person, or have received a solicitation from your IMO on this guy, do your homework. It is all there. No one is trying to ""compete"" or sway people. Just do your research and make your own decision, I am sure you will find out more than you want to know.
