I bought a new Fridgedair dishwasher 14 months ago. I bought the 45 year extended warrenty from Bankers as I had been told that appliances were not as reliable as they used to be. I had a problem in the first year that the manufacturer took care of eventually and am now at the 2 week mark and they have not even got the parts to fix it. I expect it be over 3 weeks before I have afunctioning dishwasher. But I guess that may be good because as I purchased the unit well they continued to emphasize my pricing and said that they might not fix it all but simply refund my money. This of course would be bad news as I purchased well and then would be responsible for the new unit purchase price as well a all of the shipping and installation. It appears thst extended warrenties are essential because of poor quality appliances but are not really a cure for the problem.
