On January 2015, while shopping for a car online, I came across an advertising from "AUTONATION LINCOLN CLEARWATER" of a 2009 Dodge Journey STX around $10.600 out of the door. After exchanging few emails with the seller "ANDREA RIBEIRO ",and be told by her that the car was in very good conditions, my wife and I decided to rent a car and drive down to South Florida to purchase the car. We live in the North West of Florida, and the store is about 350 miles away from our home.

We got there by lunch time, "BRIAN O'CONNOR ' greeted us at door and introduced himself as the seller manager, then he said that another customer took the car to his mechanic, in order to get it approved for buy. We were disappointed with the loss of the car, as well frustrated with the time and money wasted to get there. Therefore, we went shopping around for another car, but for our surprise at the end of afternoon we received a call from the "AUTONATION LINCOLN CLEARWATER ", saying that the other customer had decided for a bigger car and that the 2009 Dodge was available.

We returned to the store, but we were concerned if the mechanic of the other customer had found something wrong with the car so before we signed the paper work , we made that question few times , and the answer was that the car was in perfect conditions, not problem at all, then they offered me to buy an insurance, which I declined because at the time after have paid over $10.000 cash , I could not a afford any more expenses. Also I was told that I could return the car within 3 days or 150 miles, what I explained that it would not work for me because just to get back home would be 350 miles and I could not return any soon to ClearWater. There was when they looked into my eye and staid again that the car was in perfect conditions. What lies !!.

On the way back home, I noticed something was not quite right with the car, so I sent an e-mail to "AUTONATION LINCOLN CLEARWATER" explaining my concerns , and once again they said that the car was fine. As the problem persisted I took the car to the Dodge dealer in my home town , and sure there was a problem with the car, the transmission was damaged and that to fix it right would cost me $3000. Here is what "AUTONATION LINCOLN CLEARWATER " General Manager ' BOB GEIGER , said about it:

They said that it is my responsibility, that they are covered by the law, because I did not bought the insurance and that all they can do is a 10 % of discount on the bill to fix it on their shop. But now he told me that I have to buy the warranty but I must repair the car before and pay for it

Here is the truth: I was RIPPED OFF

My advice to all honest people , especially the ones in Florida , stay away from " AUTONATION LINCOLN CLEANWATER" they are crooks and they will " RIPP YOU OFF", if you give them a chance.
