My husband and I both had monthly accounts for unlimited car washes at Auto Spa on Golansly Blvd. We had stopped in on the way to an appointment in his vehicle, a 2000 Ford Excursion. There was a lengthy line to go through the wash, so we waited patiently.
Remember....they sold my husband a monthly membership for this vehicle as he sat in his vehicle. He had used the car wash on several occassions with no problem. On this particular day, we passed the cashier, two employees at the entrance who added additional cleaner for difficult areas before passing into the car wash.
About half way through the wash, it came to a sudden halt. A gentlemen (who we later found out was the ""owner"" according to him, I have been unable to verify this fact) walked to the truck, pulled up on the supports for a horizontal, round brush and dropped it back down on the windshield. He didn't say a word to us but walked away before restarting the wash.
We left the car wash and made it about a block, before we realized the windshield was cracked near the top. I called the car wash and they told me we should return to thewash so they could see what we were talking about. We returned and were greeted by ""Ramzy"", who proclaimed to be the owner, who was yelling repeatedly that ""car washes don't ever breat windsheilds"".
After much yelling (on both sides) Ramzy said the problem was the aftermarket visor that sits above the windsheild. We find it interesting my husband was sold a membership and this was not mentioned, or that he made it through the car wash without problem on other occassions, or that no one had ever said this was an unacceptable addition for the car wash.
The only difference on this occassion was Ramzy allowing the brush to slam down on our windsheild. Ramzy refuses to give his last name or to pay for our windsheild. A reputable company would have a civil conversation when damage was done to a vehicle and would also cover the damages.
I would caution anyone who uses this car wash and expects to have a fair outcome in the event damage is done to their vehicle.
