Your information is sold by your bank, insurance company, the dealership you purchased your car from and a hundred other possible places. Information is a huge market and with the internet and technology they can find out almost anything about someone.
This company continues to send mail to my dead father, always marked urgent and with threats of penalties. They have been asked repeatedly for the last 4 years to remove him from their lists, they refuse. Let me repeat that-he died 4 years ago. They followed me to my new home 3 years ago, where he's never lived. This needs to end. The pain it causes myself and my family is uncalled for.
It actually is not the company that is sending you the mail that is at fault. They purchase lists from large data companies like InfoUSA or Polk that sale them the lists and are the ones that have to be responsible for removing your fathers info from their records. The company that sent the mailing are constantly purchasing new lists and do not know that the data company has not removed the info when they get it again.
Contact one of the 2 companies above to ask how to get your fathers info removed and look to the government do not mail list to help. Shame this happened to you but it is not uncommon.
