I bought jewelry with Appraisal. Turns out Appraisal is fake and jewelry is junk. Lost hundreds of dollars. Bought home renovation items that had peices missing and were useless. Bought expensive moisterizing cream and it was almost empty, with a tiny bit on the bottom of the jar.
They will not take returns, or exchange or replace and they would not give a refund.
My family has been in the auction industry for 3 generations, trust me Auctionmaxx bids up their own items. To be fair most auction houses have this dubious practice but Auctionmaxx makes it a little TOO apparent. My dad says they started off legit but got corrupt within the last 2 years, hopefully we open our own auction house soon depending on my grandpa's health.
Arrived to pickup my order 3 new unopened*they falsely claim) yale deadbolt locks
Arrived home none of them had keys.
Contacted jessica via telephone very sympathetic telling that's why they have 14 day return policy!!
14 of which 6 are closed days.
I requested money to gave keys made ir portion thereof in the amount if 15$ per lock she advised she would get right back to me never did not surprised!
Response via email from worst person you would ever want to attempt civil communications with telling me to return them and if it was deemed by them to 've misrepresented i would get money back lol! sold me 3 locks no keys and that's not enough

after what I feel I was run up. Paid over 4-5 times of what I would have paid, had it been as described, but the listing could have been interpreted in several ways, as the additional photo's confused the legality of what I was actually getting. When I went to pick up and explain the situation......they would not even give me time of day....and really didn't care. Needless to say I told them to.............and removed my info from their site.....!!!!!!!!
This site uses shill bidders to bump the price up. They do not care about the customer, period. All they want is the posting fee from consignors and final auction fee from buyers. There are many scrupulous items posted - whether legal or not.
I bought and consigned with them abiding by ludicrous rules set forth by Jon Martin. If you post one item, the fee rate is $10 post fee PLUS $25 penalty fee PLUS 10% of auction value - quick math dictates that the item must sell for at least $41 before the consignor collects and at that point you get $2.50. If the items sells and the final payout is less than $2, they have the right to dipose of the item. You must consign at least five items to work into his $10 post plus 10% structure for each item.
If you bid, depending on the item there are shill bidders in place to push the price higher than normal. THis is easily noticed in a lot of cases as the item is re-listed the next day before they even open with a statement of non-payment attached. The site gives you five consecutive days to pay - usually online - if you don't, the item is re-listed and you are charged for the relist and loose any investment.
Forget about returning anything - you have seven consecutive days to return an item - BUT they are closed Sun, Mon & Tues. - this leaves only four days for returns.
This site requires Government and or media intervention and shoud be investigated.
Consistant misrepresentation of items....failure to disclose damage....terrible customer service will not deal with any complaints. Yes i have had good purchases with this company but the numerous issues with items that i have purchased may keep me away in the future. Never trust they're disclosures they do not check that items are complete or in good working order even though they say they have in they're descriptions. I feel they sell items that are defective, that is why they are not sold in stores any more, they sell problem items that were probably returned to the original store for a reason. If the bar code is removed from the item stay away.
As for bidding up they're own items you can guarentee that. I watched an item go higher than i wanted to bid and not surprisingly that item was back on sale the next week. i guess they're own employee won the item or it was broken.
Worst customer service i have ever experienced in these type of businesses! My feeling is they are overwhelmed by complaints and are now numb to them and they're level of caring how people feel about they're business is gone.
The most amount of money they make is through falsely advertised and rigged auctions. Jon Martin who's the guy running the show is a joke.
