I retained Mr. Peterson shortly before the Nebraska bar revoked his law license. Mr. Peterson was nothing short of incompetent in handling a very serious criminal defense matter for me and his lack of preparedness, attentiveness, and communication led to a total breakdown of my case and expectations regarding sentencing. There is no doubt that the cocaine and vodka issue that Mr. Peterson was ultimately disciplined by the Nebraska Bar for and served time in a treatment facility for had a direct impact on the extremely poor representation that I and numerous others received. I am in disbelief that the Nebraska Bar allowed Mr. Peterson to return to his practice of law given his numerous violations. Previous to the violation that led to his suspension he had been taken to hearing with the Nebraska Bar for additional violations. The ultimate violations leading to his suspension occurred just mere months after the initial charges were deferred by the Bar. Tom based his practice on farmed DUI representation and fueled his many habits using money from his firm’s trust account. His home was also searched by law enforcement during a child pornography investigation in 2004. It is misleading to state that Tom is “The Best Of” anything but serving his own narcissistic needs.
