I received a call from ASSOCIATED SUPP 5/27/2014, 602 area code. The representative was selling ink cartridges for printers. Since I had just bought ink from another company, I was curious what this company's cartridges would cost. The gal I spoke with was very friendly and asked for me to hold in order to look up prices. Unfortunately, within seconds, another individual continued our discussion. Again, I gave my printer type and asked for a price. This conversation was very friendly up to this point. After telling me the product details and price, I indicated that I was not interested at this time. This representative became irritated that I should even have asked or taken his time to get a "quote." This became unsettling to me. Why was he questioning me for asking a product price quote? I told him I was sorry I could not help him make an income as he had just conveyed that "he was just trying to make a living." He continued to ask me the reasoning as to why I even asked for a quote. I told him I usually compare prices simply because of cost. Again, he accusingly asked why. I then told him I didn't have the money at this time and I already had about a years supply of ink, (I reminded him that I had told him this earlier in the conversation.), so cost was an issue as well as having a current ink supply. I also noted my hopes to need more ink sooner than a year.
I never intended to be rude or waste anyone's time. I explained my reasoning simply because I know how hard it is to make a living these days.
Given my explanations, I would have anticipated the representative to try and sell me the product again. Because, even though I could not buy ink now, I would need future supplies. But, instead, this rep continued to be confrontational. I told him I thought he was being rude and self-centered and thinking to myself that I wanted nothing to do with this company. I mentioned that I would research this company and report him. He then asked me if I even knew his name. I was so frickin' flusterd, I couldn't remember anything and I certainly would not want to guess. So, I asked the inevitable, "What is the name of your company?" Well, you can probably guess what he said. Nothing! However, I do have caller ID.
I said goodbye and hung up. Within 1 minute of this conversation ending, I received a call from a debt servicing company called Sentry Credit (425) 740-5416. I did not answer this call. I just wonder, if it's better that I never answer an unknown caller or number again. The old adage, "If it's worth it, they'll leave a message,"has some value here--even though, that would not have helped in this case.
I did find a company online called Associated Supply Company out of Phoenix, AZ. They give only a 1 800 number to call and a chatline. Product could not be ordered on this site. I interacted with the chatline and asked for a price quote--twice. I did not receive an answer. I have yet to call the company.
