I have used Apple Vacaton in the past, was not so bad until I decied to try their Apple 5 Square deal. They take you to a hotel that is titled a RIU hotel, but not even listed in the RIU marketing material with the other hotels. It may be a 3 Apple hotel if even, they tell you it will be a 5 Apple for sure, but if you have ever been to a 5 Apple you know what to expect. First of all you have to walk about 15 min to get from your room to the pool or even the hotel lobby, the have limited room service and only service your fridge every 2 days which is 2 beers and a couple of pops, I am not even kidding about that, that is what the hotel lobby told me, I thought they had made a mistake! The shower leaked all over our room and it was dirty! We called Apple that night and was told we could not transfer until the next day which took all day and $60.00 addtional for each night we wanted to stay at the other Apple hotel!
I also picked and payed for our airline seats in advance, I do not like to fly so the seats are very important to me, when we got there on the way there and back we did not get the seats on our itneary, in fact they tried to put us way across the plane from each other both ways! I showed Frontier my Ininery and they told me it was an Apple problem, and on the plane the Apple rep was so rude!
I expect my money back for both the airfaire I paid extra for and the 2 days of my husand and my own vacatoin time! I have reached out to Apple many times now, they have done nothing!!!!!! They took my money and my vacation time and ran, they runied our vacation we work all year for! Please report them to the Better Business!
We booked our 50th wedding anniversary package to Cancun through Apple and stayed at the Apple recommended Secrets Capri ( a 6 star rating) on 5,25,2013. Payed for a Preferred Delux Ocean View room with two beds. We were placed in a one king bed room with a pool view.
When questioned Secrets said they would have to call Apple for permission to change our room. Apple said OK but we were told the resort was full for the weekend and we could not be moved for 5 days 2 days after our anniversary date. We would have only three days in our preferred accomodations. We were compensated with a Romantic dinner on the beach for staying in our lesser room.
Our total package cost us $4,206.38. There were other problems as well. Slippers and robe and and drink selection were basically missing from our one king bed accomodation. While we paid over $4,000 for our preferred accomodation and spent 5 days in a lessor room we met two other parties that paid substantially less for their similar accomodations, specifically $2,200 and $3,000 respectively. Obviously we paid for a lot more then we recieved.
We found out inadvertantly while visiting another Secrets Resort, that Apple owns the Secrets Resort Chain. Secrets Capri, while given a 6 star rateing is really a 4 star resort. We believe that Apple Vacations steered us to Secrets Capri to fil up a substandard resort with the full knowlede that we wanted better for our 50th.
On top of that my husband developed bloody dysentary from the second day of our stay after eating in one of the resort restaurants. My case developed after our return to the US. It took 3 Doctors visits, a loss of ten pounds and several medications to resolve the dysentary. Is there a food service problem at Secrests Capri? It is my opinion that the answer would be a resounding YES!
A letter was sent to AV Customer support and never answered We believe that Apple needs to review this complaint for a complete refund or other appropriate accomodation at a resort other then Secrets Capri.
