I’d like to prevent other companies from signing up for a program that may not meet their needs but they won’t be able to get out of the contract when not satisfied.
If you are considering buying or transferring to AppFolio, DON’T. Unlike other software programs that let you sign up for month to month services, and make it easier to move to another service if you are not satisfied. Appfolio locks you into a one year contract and doesn’t care that you are losing business and working harder to make a product work that promised us more time to gain business.
We knew this was not the software for us after two months. Owners were complaining they weren’t getting the same automated or detailed services they had with the last software.
Tenants were complaining that clearing payments took longer than before. Making our team work harder and spend more time putting out fires than gaining more business.
We made many calls to Appfolio in an effort to find fixes to no avail. Our team finally voted that going back to the old software that we’d had before would be better than staying a year and losing business. We lost one owner that had 10 apartments in two buildings. Last week I sent an email informing them, in writing that we were not going to continue the service and gave them some of our complaints. They replied by saying we had a one year contract.
They tried to convince us to stay with them promising that there were a lot of changes coming this year. Why would we stay with a company that promised something they didn’t deliver and wait for them to continue to fail us and loose business? We paid over $2000 with startup fees to get the program and now they want us to continue wasting money. I complained and they offed to let us out of the contract for $600. They failed us, and we have to pay. REALLY?
My customers need to be happy now. So if anyone out there is thinking of switching or signing up with Appfolio, don’t waste your money like we did.
If you are looking for less work and more time. Forget Appfolio. The automation of Propertyware is better. Try them. We had them for 4 years until Appfolio sales staff convinced us they had a better product.
They promised to cut back on the redundancy. We had to spend all day in the office on software issues. They promised to give us a product that would give us time to market more business that did not happen. Don’t be fooled. Their staff are professionals, great personalities, and you want to trust what they say. I was convinced they were giving me the product to make my business grow. Instead, I lost business. And, you won’t know the service won’t work until after you sign a contract that they won’t let you out of when you are not happy. AND, since their offices are in California, I’d have to go to California to sue them. They win all the way around.
