I cancelled AOL in 2012 and the continued billing my account even though the account had not been logged onto for over 3 years. I told AOL India that that account s closed years ago and in reply they sent me to collections!
I called and paid 199.00 to this company and they was suppose to help me buy pre-foreclosed homes....with no money down we just take over payments. I was told if I was unhappy for any reason I would get my money back after 90 days. well the website they have gives address of homes that has already been left by the owners and went through forcloser. Or you get addresses that dont exist or have several addresses that belong to the same spot on a street...not even a real house. When you send out the letters they say you have to send...you get them back unopened with postage that says no forwarding address...I emailed them and asked for my money back...then sent them a letter with all my information on it asking...now they tell me I have to send them 5 letters of denial..you cant get these letters cause it never makes it to the owners or anyone else...I just want my money back....and my credit card company telles me I only have 180 days for them to get it back..so they claim they cant help me...someone please just get me my 199.00 back and close this place down once and for all.
Aol refused to refund reoccurring monthly charges after repeated attempts to cancel billing on their website and requesting cancellation on the phone. Had to cancel my debit card to change my debit card number so that AOL could not keep billing me and debiting my bank account. After 10 ten years of being a paying customer, no need to pay for same services that are now free with other internet providers and with Aol. I recall a 60 Minutes story that depicted same issue, so evidently, nothing has chnage in AOL 's corporate culture. Its a shame that a company contiues to try to rip off long term customers with these types of stall, and refusal tactics. Thank God for being able to "refute" credit or debit card charges, but still an big inconvenence for me ! Just say NO to AOL !!
