I am a frequent shopper at Anna Lines due to a recently moving into my apartment. I will purchase the item; go home and decorate; if it does not fit the apartment I will take it back; exchange or get a refund if I am not satisfied with the selected item.
I purchased two rugs for my kitchen on 9/12/2013 from Anna Linens with my debit card. I did not like the way the rugs looked. I went to Anna Linens on my lunch break to make an exchange, not a refund.
I gave Erik Hernandez my rugs and my receipt; advised I wanted another rug. He stated ok, get the one you want. I brought the rug to the counter; he said there was a refund and he needed the debit card that I purchased the rug with. I advised him that I did not have the debit card with me; he stated he needed to put it on a gift card.
I advised Erik that I paid with a debit card and he could give me the $4.65 in cash. He stated we do not do do that at this store. I advised him that two weeks prior I made a purchase, did not like it and was given and option of debit card or cash.
Erik Hernandez stated we don't do that at this store; you can take your items and come back. I could not believe he said that and had the word (Supervisor) on his name tag. I advised I wanted to speak with a manager; he stated he was the manager. Advised me to wait a minute; walked off and came back stating we do not do that at this store; you can come back.
I asked for the corporate office number. I asked for his name. He wrote Erik and advised me of a 1-800 number did not connect me to the corporate office. I went to my car to dial the number.
I reentered the store. He asked me how could he assist me. I walked to one of the female employees that has seen me on several occasion making purchases, advised that I needed a contact number that I could speak with the corporate office. The three employees that were on duty were very helpful with the situation. They all apologized for the situation. Advised me of two contact numbers and website.
I advised Erik Hernandez that I visit that store at lleast twice a month. There is history on my debit card and Anna Linens card for my history.

I really felt I was discriminated against.
