I use the American Express serve card because my employer required that our paychecks be deposited into an account. On July 15, 2015 I used the American Express card to purchase $10 worth of gas from my local and frequently used corner gas station. I always pay for gas inside but on this date the gas station attendant was very busy and asked me to pay at the pump. After completing the purchase I received my receipt for a $10 gas purchase and left. Later that day I tried to pay my cable bill using my American Express Serve card and was told there was insufficient funds on the card. Since my only purchase had been the $10 gas purchase I called Anerican Express to find out what was going on. I was told that a hold for $100 had been placed on my card by the service station for my $10 gas purchase. Today, July 16, 2015 I returned to the gas station to find out why this done and was told that they NEVER place any holds on credit cards used at the pumps. They apologized for the problem and offered to help me in any way necessary to get the money returned to my account. I called American Express again and this time asked to speak with a supervisor to determine who EXACTLY was holding my $100. It took me over 25 minutes on the phone with this person before she finally admitted that it was American Express that was holding the money, NOT THE GAS STATION!!! They LIED and WILL NOT return the funds for 8 days. I am retired and I work hard for my money I earn and loosing $100 for 8 days is not something I can afford.
Like I was reading in the last complain that you had about American Express the same thing they told me they were too many - 450 15 E and that 15 East section basically says that they cannot close an account if it has a remaining balance and further down the line do it also says that this matters cash available they're going to be sending it out via check now too important things there's over about twenty five thousand ninety dollars in my account and I need them I'm frustrated but what can I do right I have to go through the process and everything when I call them they don't providing information I have already provided him with documents and document the documents over and over again the basic known even listen to their customers they're very rude what had attitude that is just not we could
