I got what I thought was good extended warrenty on my 2007 Ford Explorer. I've had this SVU for 3 years and went to have the transmission checked at a Ford dealer. The transmission was fine but the coolent to the transmission was leaking. American Auto Shield would not cover the repair because it was not the radiator, just a connection to the radiator from the transmission.
I now to get spend $435.00 for the repair even though I feed this was part of the Power Train.
A month ago I had put a 300.00 down payment for the dimond auto service for American Auto sheild that covered 101,000 miles for my volksagon jetta. And after the month had past I realized that I havent been using my car as much due to car pooling. So today september 5, 2013 I called American Auto Sheild to cancelled and they informed me that I had to contact my vender which was carfix . I called carfix and they were persistant with me to keep the coverage and to continue to pay 175.00 per month when i informed them I wasnt using my car as much as I thought I would. Although I declined numerous times they still put me on hold for 10 minutes hoping I would hang up or keep there services. The woman I was dealing with told me they can lower the price to 130.00 with same coverage. After I told her no she said there was no way she could cancelle there, I would have to write a letter to request to cancel with my name ,contract#, reason for canceling ,current miles, sign and date letter get it noterized and send to carfix at 3300 panel way, st. charles , mo, 63301. All Iwant is a refund of my $300.00. I dont know if they are scamming me or not but this is ridiculous. Ive never been givin the run around like this with a company.
