I was contacted by Jason Ely in November of last year to participate in an advertising opportunity for local apartment communities to be included on their magnetic whiteboards. I agreed, paid them $700 and never heard from them again. I was able to get in touch with Jason in March and he told me they were in process but nothing has materialized. In reading the online complaints, I am kicking myself! I am just starting the process to file complaint against them. Any assistance with the process is greatly appreciated.
On 9/15/2014 I paid American Advertising Concepts for school magnet . Today is 3/19/2015 and I have never recieved any magnet nor have the school. They will not answer the phone anymore or respone to my email.
In May of 2014 our restaurant was contacted by Jason Ely, Apartment Sepcialist, about advertising on a refridgerator magnet for a local apartment complex. I am always skeptical of solicitation calls from out-of-state for obvious reasons. And we get more than 10 ecery day! Mr. Ely gave me his spiel claiming that the apartment complex pointed him in our direction. I told him I would call him back with our decision so that I could confirm what I had been told.
I called the apartment complex and the property manager confirmed that Mr. Ely did contact them about the magnets and they referred him to us. In hindsight, If we had done a bit more research I would not be writing this report. One look at their pitiful website would have been all I needed to see to pass on the "opportunity." If they are so ineffective at marketing their own company, we would never trust them to advertise ours. But, unfortunately, we proceeded with the magnet ads, for which we were charged $460 for the ad and an additional $10 for the sample we were to receive(!?) and "shipping."
We were told the apartment complex would receive the magnets in September and we would receive our sample at the same time. When we did not receive our sample by October, I called the apartment complex and was informed that they had not yet received the magnets or have they been contacted again since the initial call in May. I sent Mr. Ely and email to which he did not respond. 7 months removed from my first conversation with Mr. Ely, and after several emails and phone calls, no response, no magnets and no refund. Stay away from this company. I am sure ripping off businesses from coast to coast is their standard operating procedure. I plan to take further action against Amerian Advertising Concepts and will update this report with future developments.
