Our company hired Alpaytac (a Chicago Public Relations firm) to promote a new product line.
They told us the price and said that they estimated we would get at least X mentions in the media in the first few months. They also promised weekly updates on the media mentions.
We proceeded to hire them but they never generated ANY media mentions. Not only that, the weekly reports didn't really come weekly and when they did, they only contained worthless comments like "We emailed a journalist at the NYT and will follow up next week".
When confronted, they always kept giving excuses. At the end, they refused to return the money, so essentially, they took a large amount of money and delivered absolutely nothing.
