I tried to make payments , but they would not except anything lower than 3000.00 down with more payments of 1200.00 for 6 consecutive months. Absolutly ridiculous, they are holding lien on license for over 10 grand. No one can afford to pay payments like that in this economy. i filed bankruptcy and have discharge papers for all debts including theirs. i am going to dmv tomorrow to see if they will let me have my license back. It has been 5 yrs. if i have more problems with them, i am going to sue. I have to have a licence, i have 2 small children that need to get to dr appts. as well as myself and i cant get job without it. it started out at 6000.00, and now they have jumped it up over 10 grand. i would have to win the lottery to pay that kind of money.
I owed 3 traffic tickets in Everett Washington the total of these tickets were 403.00. I was told by the courts I could make payments on this money owed, to Alliance One recievables. I made payment arrangements with Alliance One over the phone which they made no record of. Then promptly garnished my wages with no warning to me I found out when I got my check and 453.00 was taken out. Since I pay my rent weekly I had no money to pay my rent and ended up on the streets. I called Alliance One and was told in an arrogant smug attitude that "that wasnt all I owed" The company that I work for sent the garnishment papers to my Supervisor who told me the company does not tolerate wage garnishing. My next payday they garnished another 403.00. To try and save my job I called Alliance again and was told i owed 1100.00 more for their fees and court costs. I made arrangements again to pay 100.00 a month. I paid 300.00 dollars the following months then in Dec missed a payment because I had no money to pay. But Jan 2, I called Alliance one again and was told the paperwork had already been sent through the courts to garnish my wages again. I told these people my job was on the line and the hateful woman i was speaking to on the phone said they needed the entire amount or they wouldn' stop the wage garnishment. I ended up giving them every cent i had in the bank and had no money to live on the next two weeks. Now they say I owe them another 623.00. Or else my wages will be garnished again and my licence will be suspended again. I went to the Courthouse in Everett and was told what they were doing was legal and if I didnt't like it to get a lawyer which is exactly what I am going to do. The Courts have an agreement with Alliance One and will give these people a free hand to take whatever they want in fees from you. These people have cost me my home, my 80 year old mother who I help support that lives in another state had to do without her medication and ended up in a hospital with conjestive heart failure. And they have just about cost me my job. What these people are allowed to do has to be against the law. Right now I am living in my car. That is where Alliance One has put me.
