On September 29, 2012 I bought a brand new 2012 Chevy Traverse 1LT from Allen Samuels Chevrolet in Waco, TX. Between the dates August 2013 - July 2014, my vehicle has been in service 5 times, a minimum of 20 days in service and has had at least 24 items replaced or repaired. My vehicle has been serviced at Allen Samuels and Don Ringer. Allen Samuels' service department and sales department have both told me that it is not normal that I am having this many issues with my Traverse. The service department at Don Ringer in Temple, TX told me the same thing.
I reached out to, Dave Kersten, the General Manager at Allen Samuels. I also reached out to, Mike Lowry, the owner of Allen Samuels. I stressed my concerns to both Dave and Mike of how unhappy I am with my vehicle and how I feel unsafe driving the vehicle with my 3 and 5 year old children. I also stressed that I wanted out of this vehicle for these reasons and if I had this many problems in 1 year, I don't want to imagine what the future holds.
I asked them to not transfer any of my loan on the defective vehicle on another loan. At first Dave stated he would only give me fair market value on my defective vehicle, but he would give me dealer invoice on a new vehicle. We went back and forth several times and they offered to pay my vehicle off with incentives and a rebate. They offered me a 2014 Chevy Traverse 2LT with leather, dvd, assisted steps and roof rack for $42,471.41 including tax, title and license. They stated they were selling me the vehicle at dealer invoice for $40,110.29 and that the MSRP was $41,830.00.
I stressed to them in the beginning that I wanted to see the dealer invoice. I had a strong feeling that the dealer invoice price they provided was incorrect and I stressed my concerns to them about this. The dealership assured me that they were giving me the correct amount for dealer invoice. I knew something was not right with that price.
I received confirmation from a manager at Capitol Chevrolet and Chevrolet Customer Service by calling 800-222-1020 that the amount the dealership provided me is not dealer invoice. They were giving me a higher dollar amount than what they paid for dealer invoice. I advised the dealership that they were giving me the wrong dollar amount for the dealer invoice and I wanted to see the dealer invoice before I made any commitments. The dealership will not show me the dealer invoice and what they have offered me was their final offer.
I even reported them to the BBB and they still refuse to show me dealer invoice. It blows my mind that a dealership stands so strongly by their word that they are giving me the correct amount for dealer invoice, but refuse to show me this on paper. If they are telling me the truth and have nothing to hide, they would show it to me. The problem is they are lying.
I don't understand how a business can do this to a customer. It is mean and not professional. I want the public to know how Allen Samuels Chevrolet in Waco, Texas treats their customers and veterans. My husband is a veteran and the dealership is aware of this. They state they care about their customers and veterans, but their actions speak louder than words.
