This company took my money. $1,700.00 worthm . They never called me to give me a time of arrival, they told me I was getting my own truck, they then called to tell me they couldn't meet me on the date of the contact and then it was because "the truck I was sharing with went over on weight so they're locating another truck." Someone was rude as hell to me when I asked to speak to a manager, then they hung up. I asked for my money back, they told me they would call me back. I am just disgusted. I feel like I got scammed and now I have to go through my bank to try to get my money back. Do not use this "company"
My disabled (in a wheelchair) father set up to have All State Van Lines Relocation service to move his belongings from Minnesota to albuquerque, NM. They had set up the the pick up date for May 23rd to the 28th, they called and said that because of the issue in Texas that they would have to reschedule pick up dates and still gave him the same pick up dates may 23rd to the 28th. He moved on the 28th down to new mexico, his brother drove him down and he moved into his apartment on June 1st. They company never came to pick up his belongings! They informed my father that they didn't have a driver in the area yet. It is now June 7th and a family friend called a couple days ago and got the run around by a customer service representative. My father has been in his new apartment with no belongings. He has been sleeping in his wheelchair because he has no bed and cannot get onto the floor. He knew that there would be some overlap time from when they picked up for the move to drop off but they have not even picked up anything yet. Everything has to be out of his house by June 11th because he sold his home. It has now come down to the fact that I have to find daycare for my three children, drive three hours from my house to pack up a moving truck at my father's home, drive by myself down to new mexico, unload the u haul, and fly back home! I do not have disposable money to do this, I am a stay at home mom!
I made the mistake and told the sales man Daniel that my husband just passed away and that I was alone doing things. He had me tell him all my furnishings and boxes. He told me I would have an 18 wheel trailer and that there was no problem with the extra boxes I had. I had 10 or so extra. It was a 3 day window which he was pretty sure I would have the first day. So my son flew in, well it was noon on the third day. 2 young men and one of them had there kid brother. Mind you I tore everything down and boxed. It was a U-haul looking kind of a truck. Some furniture did not make it and I had a $4000 mattress covered that they sat outside of the truck with a grill and other things. The trip from Wichita to Newport News, Va. Destroyed my mattress. I have all pictures of this. I did not buy extra insurance being I thought I was getting what I paid for. All by belongings going into a van. Relo wants to give me 60.00 for the mattress. .60 per pound which I put 100 lbs but it was 200 lbs. Relo is very unprofessional and to have a kid bang up my things too. I had many other things damaged but it was stacked up into storage and did not noticed until later. Plus one of the men's arms cramped up and he dropped a box marked fragile and I haven't opened it to see. I am emotional now. I have got nothing but a run around from All State Van lines. The move was completed July 11 they left on a Friday and we're here in Va. On the 13th. I had to lend them my step stool which I gave them, blankets and use our flashlights on our cell phones because truck lights did not work inside. I can go on and on. I even fed them pizza because the kid was hungry and gave them extra bottles of water because they ran out. I feel so taken advantage of. All State has the pictures too. No one cares. I want my voice heard!! Thank you. I have all paper work and receipts and e-mails saved also
This company is a fraud! It's not a real moving company, it's a moving broker.
They will take your deposit, and RUN!
On the day of the move I had another company come and was suppose to service my move. I asked to be present at the weight of the truck, since All State told me I'll be paying based on my weight. They scheduled the move to a Sunday, even thought I requested a Friday. Then the truck asked me to meet them at a weight station. However that station was closed! (Sunday) so I researched another station online (on my iPhone) and I found one 30 miles away. They would not go there saying they need approval from Allstate, which conveniently does not work Sunday. That was the FIRST issue. So, this new company that showed up told me they can weight the truck upon delivery with all my stuff on it, and without my stuff. So I said ok, lets go.
When they go to the home, they suddenly tripled my initial estimates, saying it's too large in cubic feet. (not wait, I was quoted based on weight, not cubic feet) Than they said they need to add "long distance walk" fee, due to the fact that my home is more then 75 feet from the truck. I took a measuring tape and measured 83 feet. I said I'm willing to only pay for the extra 8 feet, but they insisted it's 250 feet (WHAT???!?!?!?!) and the guy said initially "I measured it myself" but then when I confronted him he said "my partner measured it" and then he tried to "walk" with me and count his steps. But I told him I measured it with a ruler! Then he said I didn't take into account my steps, but in my contract with All State I have up to 25 steps included, so I told him I'm not suppose to count the steps.
Man, this company is the worst! so now after all this I got mad, and said, forget it. I'll rent a UHAUL and drive my stuff myself. I demand my deposit back. So he said I'll need to talk to All State. So when I called they transferred me to this cancelation department, which was not as friendly as their booking department. there, the guy said "you signed forms that state the the deposit is non-refundable" When I tried to tell him about all the issues the day of the move they would not hear anything, and would simply say "no cancelation" we will not give you the money back.
They never came to service the move, they sent someone else to service it, which then tried to add all sort of fees, and blow my estimate based on different criteria!
I am telling you people, stay away from this company! They are a fraud!!!!!
Long story short, it will cost me more money and time to try and sue them, even if I have a case, but I don't have the time or money, so at least I hope this review helps someone else NOT to fall in the trap!
Good luck with your move, and beware of this company.
