What a horrible experience and a ripoff. This was a nightmare experience that just got worse the more we dealt with the company. No integrity or professionalism.
The first question I asked the owner was do you move pianos. She said yes, but it's four guys and $120 an hour.
We hired her company because we wanted the move done professionally.
The day of the move four guys showed up. They were on time and very polite but only two worked hard. One complained constantly about how much he hated moving and barely worked at all. What could have been done in four hours took ten.
At the end of ten hours, they had scratched the piano, severely scratched and dented our stainless steel refrigerator, broken two desks, broken a glass table top, and stacked heavy boxes marked 'books' on top of ones marked fragile, crushing the bottom boxes.
We showed them where to put items and even wrote on the boxes clearly (e.g., "bathroom" "bedroom" "kitchen" etc.), but they stacked all the boxes in the garage.
When it was time to pay the bill, the kid in charge said they did not accept credit cards, check only. We explained our disappointment and asked for some resolution on the large bill of $1,200. He said he was not authorized. He dialed the owner, but did not want to speak to her and handed me the phone. She did not pick up. He explained that she was only available during the work week during business hours. So we agreed to pay him and contact her on Monday.
We even gave a tip to the kid in charge and advised him to distribute as he saw fit, since he and one other guy worked very hard.
On Monday, we spoke to the owner about it. She was rude, belligerent and offensive. very unprofessional and unethical. She said the damage was no big deal, we were over reacting. Then she hung up on us.
