In Late December I had planned a trip and thought I would acquire a cell phone just in case I had an emergency. I rarely would have a need to have a cell phone otherwise.
Reading user reports online I chose to visit the nearest 7Eleven store and try the Alcatel Onetouch A392A phone as the price was right, ($79) and they had a minutes promotion available.
After spending $158 I left the store confident I had made a good choice.
During my trip I used the phone very sparingly. After a week or two, I charged it (or thought I did).
A month went by where I did not need the phone. Second week of March I went to use the phone and the battery warning came on. I plugged in the charger and left it over night. In the AM I tested the phone and the battery warning came on and the phone turned itself off.
After a couple of attempts the phone stopped working altogether. I now have a cell phone just over 3 months old that does not charge and a whole lot of time minutes I cannot use.
I contacted 7Eleven where I purchased the phone and they suggested I buy another phone. Other than that there was nothing they could do.
Troubleshooting tips did not solve the issue.
Why should I have to pay to send a defective product in for repair? Especially when it was used about five times.
The charger does not work. I definitely do not recommend this product at all!
