The first technician came to house and determined that there were two faulty relay switches that should be replace to prevent the unit from tripping the main breaker in the house electrical panel. The technician forwarded the information to his Office to have the part ordered ($85.00 for the service call) The Company neglected to order the part or to re-schedule another appointment to have it installed. I called the original service tech personally and HE made the effort to find the correct part in their warehouse and correct the Company's mishandling of this. Day (3) service techs arrived to install the part. Charged for another service call plus parts approximately $150 and it worked for 48 hours. Came to find out later that the part was installed incorrectly, the screws were not tightened which cause the switch to overheat and small electrical fire to breakout in the outside unit. Whether this was intentional or due to incompetence is unknown, but there was considerable pressure put on my wife that we should purchase a new system by the technician doing the work. (We have since gotten a second opinion on our equipment by two independent sources that refute this claim.) A new set of switches were re-installed the next day and the unit worked for 2 weeks before it began to trip the interior breakers again.
At that time we called a new company, Osteen Heating and Cooling, who replaced a potential relay and start capacitor. According to the 2nd Company, " Someone had put in a cheap T-05 on this dual stage Trane Compressor and it was only feeding the Low stage Compressor ". My wife later took the parts to The Office of Advantage Air and spoke to the owner. She told me later, he spoke to her in a manner which was totally unprofessional and unheard of in ANY BUSINESS TO A CUSTOMER REGARDLESS OF THEIR CLAIM. My wife is an intelligent and soft-spoken person. His tirade was abusive and shocking. He told my wife that, and I quote, "You are so full of s***, your eyes are brown.” Now, I have been in the customer service business myself for over 26 years, and I have dealt with customer who have issues, and their complaints may have even seemed frivolous, but never have I heard of any employee or manager, let alone an OWNER of a company, speak a customer with that kind of language. There is an old saying, "When the fish stinks, it stinks from the head down"! This company stinks.
