My husband bought some products from Aaron's in order to pay the loan in a timely fashion and improve his credit rating. Other than the origanal contract which was changed twice they refuse to give us a written statement of our account. They said it wasn't possible.
I just wanted to let everyone know about the way Aaron's treats their employees. I was hurt from working at Aaron's and was on workman's comp. During the two months that I was on workman's comp with Aaron's I was only paid 1.24 from their Insurance Company (Traveler's). I have been hurting bad ever since the accident and had been to doctors back and forth for a while. Since I haven't any received any money for being hurt from Aaron's I needed to go to work. I was told by their insurance company that I can work light duty at Aaron's. I went back to the doctor and they released me to go back to work but not allowed to pick up anything over 10 lbs. Because of what happened I have permanent damage in my back and will never be able to pick up heavy stuff again.
When I returned to work I found out I was unable to clock in and out. I later found out I was removed out of the system. I had to talk to a Lex Lexander from Aaron's .. he told me that Aaron's policy states that if I can't pick up more than 50 lbs then I can no longer work for the company. After that I went to my attorney and filed a complaint on the company because I was on workman's comp and told I could not return to work due to my accident. After a couple of days I received a call from my manager telling me I can come back to work I told him I have to call Lex Lexander and find out whats going on. I got in contact with Lex Lexander he said that because Traveler's told them I can return to work that I can return. I asked hi ""Didn't you say it was Aaron's Policy that I can't return because I have been hurt?"" He stated "" We were informed to let you return to work"". I returned to work on the next day and still was not able to clock in and out. After a week of working I had been called from two of my garnishments and they stated that Aaron's told them I was terminated on April 16th. What is interesting about this is I was fired from Aaron's and was still on workman's comp. (illegal).
I now have two letters that Aaron's sent to the sate telling them I was terminated on April 16th. I have taken these to my attorney. After I have been working for a little over a week things were going ok. but I have found out I lost my desk I was working at and all my things have been thrown away. I was a MT 1 and got demoted to MT 2. all because I got hurt. This week was horrible. I went to work this Monday and because our manager was on vacation the let this rude person call Alan Wee come into the store. He was told to come into our store to fix a issue... (Me). Aaron's has been trying to find every way to get rid of me because of a pending lawsuit against them. So anyway this guy called Alan Gee came in and it was all eyes on me from him.
I have worked for Aaron's for over a year and never has the phones or cell phones been really a issue. I have a computer store on the side and instead of using the store phone I was told it was alright to just receive texts so it don't disrupt the business. This jerk (Alan Wee) came in and saw me call on the store phone for 5 min and came in closed the office door and asked ""who was you on the phone with?"" I told him the truth and he stated that ""Aaron's policy states that we are not allowed to use company phones for personal use."" (Just like it's against the company policy that I can't work for Aaron's if I can't pick up over 50 lbs. that was changed at a drop of a hat. I left to lunch and came back to work. I was working and i received a few texts on my phone but it did not disrupt my work. He comes in and brings me and another employee into the office and writes me up for using company phone and receiving texts. Alan also wrote me up for making only 12 calls from 5pm to 6pm. I looked over the call log and noticed that I did the most calls within the hour and stated to him. He proceeded to be rude and would not really listen to me about what was going on. I told him I take it you have a personal vendetta against me is what it looks like because other peoplpe use their cell phones talking and playing games but he was all eyes on me.
YES that is right AArons, i am taking my time at work to write this report. Because as i recall it is against the law to refuse somenes payment, and to keep HARRASSING someone by calling their jobs, contact numbers, and showing up at peoples house like if you are the MOBB! I must say, i had quite a pleasent expirience with aarons the first time i bought couches there with them, as we were paying all of our payments on time. After we were done with that we moved on to a tv, as sometimes life is a biotch it turned out our circumstances turned grey for my husband and I, and we let aarons know our situation that we had to hold off on some payments but as soon as we can we will pay them. ALSO the TV they had given us, had been put into strage bc of moving circumstances and, the TV WAS STOLEN when we went to give it back to aarons they DAY OF. we all realized the tv was gone.it was stolen. They stated they wanted us o make some type of payment, and as i recall in the law when you pay a bill i can pay $1 to a comapny and it is still considered a payment. They refused to take the payent we offered and told us we cannot pay. The sec time we attempted to pay them we had a little more and at this point aarons was TEXTING my personal cell phone and at first we had no idea who they were. they did not identify themselves they just were trying to see if i would answer the text seeing that i was NOT answering there 20 phoncalls a day they were doing. at this point we are attempting to still pay for a stolen tv which im sure anyone can understand can be very frustratong, but we were attempting with the situation we were in as well. trying to fix our broke down car to get to work, and save for new apt. now when they were texting we asked who it was they finally identified themselves after we HAD TO ASK TWICE, and we told them we can give them a little ore than we offered the last time. they told us we HAD to pay double. AND WE DID it was all of our money in our pockets. Long story short. it came to a point where they were calling my workplace and coming to our house ttrying to ANTE US UP! It was very invasive. I told them they can put my file into collections so that atleast collections will workout a payment plan with me. but aarons did not do that and continued to harass us. ne day when things started lookig a little brighter on our side i called them to let them know i can pa them on a certain date but they refused and told me that "when i dont pay they dont get paid. and that i did this to myself" quote!!!! i told them to put me into collections and still they refused and are still to this day calling my workplace! and family members for the money. DONT I GET SOME KIND OF LAWSUIT FOR THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR?
