Engine was purchased on November 2013 with AAA Engines and Transmissions owner Dina Hoover. This company is a fraud and a scam, so buyers beware. Stay away from this company. Questions were asked over the phone prior to the engine being purchased. The company reps tell you over the phone that all you have to do is replace the wiring harness from the old engine to the new engine and transfer alternator, AC, etc to new engine, this is not the case. I received a 98 engine instead of a 1995 engine which was ordered, Dina said it will work on my vehicle, this was not the case.
I even consulted with the manufacturer and they informed me that the engines are not compatible. AAA Engines and transmissions did replace the engine with the correct one, but the replacement engine will not work, the compression and leakdown test was preformed by my mechanic and did not pass. I requested the compression and leakdown test that were suppose to be ran on the new engine and was told they do not provide this to their customers. Yet I cannot verify that these test were actually done by AAA Engines and
Transmissions because these numbers cannot be matched to their actual numbers.
Have been given numerous excuses, lied to about delivery dates, time and give bogus tracking numbers by the company owner Dina Hoover. When I did initiate contact on all occassions again, Dina Hoover was totally unreasonable and will not work to resolve the issues, she will lie to you or make up excuses not to resolve your issue. I paid $720.00 for the engine, which they sent the wrong on to me, when I did receive a replacement, it will not pass a compression test and will not work.
When I call to inform them, they want me to pay the shipping costs to have the engine shipped back to them which is about $175.00 and a 20% restocking fee which is $144.00 for a total of $319.00 on top of the $720.00 that I already paid for the engine and $175.00 from the original shipment. Over the phone I was informed by Dina that shipping costs will be $135.00 and that they get a flat rate from USPS, I was still charged $175.00 and requested a refund. Last I heard she sent this to the accounting department, I still have not heard back from them. It sounds like this company knows how to bait and switch.
When I requested to speak to the owner and of CEO of the company, Dina Hoover informed me that they are not available, I then decided to check the internet on info on this company, I then find out that she is the company owner and also had owned AAA Japanese Imports, AAA Motors and Transmissions and had numerous complaints with the BBB that were still unresolved. This company do not do any tests on these engines like their website gaurantees. They will not supply test persentages to verify that the engines indeed have been tested and operational.
I have all receipts and email communications with this company of which I have had to initiated on all instances. If anyone is thinking about purchasing an engine from this place, think before you buy. It's not worth the hassle. Please look at previous ripoff postings on this company. I will be seeking further actions against this company with the Attorney General and Lawyers. And will be filing a fraud report with the PD. I am interested in a class action law suit against this company like the previous posting. And want to prevent anything like this happening to outher individuals.
Judgement that Dina Armstrong Hoover was included in, against previous company she was employed at, enjoining her from engaging in numerous unlawful acts.
