Our knowledge about termite repairs is limited. This is our story - AAA came out and started with a quote for $725.00. When they came back to start the work we wanted to make sure the whole termite problem was being taken care of. When we showed the exterminator all of the areas he quoted 900.00 for the “complete house” and wrote that on the second contract to alleviate our concerns. The services included an inspection report to show to our condo association so we can get reimbursed for these fees. The termites are in the walls and not our responsibility.
The exterminator came and did some work and did not finish. All of the walls were not treated. The exterminator worked for about an hour and left. When we asked why he could not complete the work, he told us he needed more supplies.
When the exterminator was leaving, we were surprised, that is when we asked about the furniture. In the past when we have had work done, they seal the holes in the furniture to kill the termites.
The exterminator informed us the furniture did not mean complete house. They insisted the furniture needed fumigation. With this we disagreed, we have had other companies do spot treatment/hole closing on the furniture over the years and felt like that is what we negotiated. However, the termites were swarming and we wanted this taken care. We agreed to another $400.00 to fumigate the furniture.
We write about the fumigation a “potentially” separate transaction to show the deceitful practices of this company. We show evidence of changing contracts after they are negotiated to show the character of this company and their sales practices. We believe “complete house” means complete house but we agreed to another transaction.
Included with this dispute is the text message log with David Reise-employee and licensed exterminator. When the company started changing signed contracts and refusing to complete the work is when we decided to dispute the charges. The text messages detail reneging after we made a deal. They wanted another $350 in additional fees.
Going back to the original transaction of 900.00 they told us the work on the walls would be completed when the fumigation was done. When we would not agree to the additional $350.00 they said the work was already complete and they were not coming back.
The treatments of all of the barrier walls, the cabinets and the Wood-Destroying Organisms Inspection Report (WDO abbreviation in bill) have not been provided. David Reise a licensed exterminator JE121782 (Florida) has been contacted several times. We show text messages with him evidencing they reneged on a contract.
We have included photos of where the work was done and not done. You can see by the numerous patched up holes where the work was done. There are no holes in some of the barrier walls, closets, or along the window were there are many termite wings. Unfortunately we went with less than desirable company.
Please contact us with any questions that may help adjudicate this dispute. We look forward to your response.
