I personally worked at Keith Ranches for several months and only left because I got married to someone in another town. I can say that I have never known anyone to be more upfront and honest about his horses and his dealings. The only people I ever saw him have trouble with, were people that tried to scam him first, and got caught. Most of the people who complained either broke or tried to break the sales agreement they agreed to and signed with Keith Ranches. All of the complaints that I have read were made by (in my opinion) unethical people that tried to back out or run a scam. I have personal knowledge of this.
I had sent this person a message asking if one of his horses was still for sale.. Few hours later I get a response with " yes " i said back " awesome, may I ask if he has a praticular job that he knows-does best? His price seems really high" ( $5,000 ) Non registered, there was just 3 pics of him no video, no pic of somebody on him, nothing like that.. Poor quality description if you ask me.. So I felt as a CUSTOMER ( potential customer ) I have every right to ask any questions I want before drive 4 hours from my house!! He replys back
" He is a good gentle ranch horse, good trail horse. Go try out other horses anf when you get out of the hospital come see me, I sell 500 horses all over the US and most start at $3500.00 plus hauling charges. You are the first to complain about the price, you better shop somewhere else."
I said back " WOW, you just lost a potential customer over the way you responded to me, Good luck with your attitude!"
He says:
You wern't a potential customer, you dont know what a good horse is worth or you are shopping price because you can't afford a good horse"
I am very glad that I had looked more into his name on google and thank god i didnt go buy a horse from him, all that pulled up was negative reviews!
This person did indeed text me inquiring about my horses. His first concern was the price. When I quoted him the price, he immediately text back that my prices were to high. I thought that this was very foolish since he had not even tried any of my horses out. I sell approximately 400 horses per year, and have learned that when someone is more interested in the price than the horse, they "are not" a potential buyer, they are kicking tires. I have the whole conversation saved in my text messages, and can honestly say that this person is not telling the whole truth. If you read my website [www.keithranches.com] I have stated in writing that I will respond and post any and all complaints that anyone is honest enough to complain to me. I have made it very clear that anyone posting about me, without addressing it to me, is probably lying. I am in the business to sell horses and am not in the habit of turning away truly "potential buyers". Please go to my website www.keithranches.com and read my compliment and comment section and my complaint section. Be your own judge.
This person first text Keith Ranches to ask if a certain horse was still available, when I replied and said that he was, this persons first response was that my horse was priced too high. In my opinion, he was not a potential buyer since he had never seen or tried the horse to determine whether he was worth his asking price or not. Obviously, the price of the horse was posted with his picture and this person should have known that the horse was out of his price range and should have never contacted me to ask about his availability. I feel that he set me up for an argument. I advised him that since he was shopping for price, there was no use shopping here. I am only concerned with honest serious buyers. In my opinion this person was trying to be a "Smart Ass" and did not have a clue about purchasing a good horse. I never felt this person was a potential buyer and I still don't.
